1. Provider and scope
SpeakPeek is provided by InfEngine Labs (苏州工业园区无限引擎软件开发工作室). This policy covers the browser extension, the macOS Safari containing app and related support.
2. Website access
Website permission lets the extension detect hovered or selected text, respond to keyboard controls, and display its Speak button, phonetics and definitions. SpeakPeek does not send us page contents, browsing history or query history. The Safari containing app guides you to enable the extension; access is controlled in Safari Settings > Extensions.
3. Local dictionary and speech
Chinese pinyin is generated locally. Bundled WordLens/ECDICT data provides Chinese definitions and many English pronunciation readings on the device. Speech is requested through the browser Web Speech API and the operating system speech service. Available voices and offline behavior depend on your browser, operating system and installed voices; this policy does not promise that every system voice works offline.
4. Public dictionary requests
Phonetics and definitions are on by default. When enabled, English queries can be sent to api.dictionaryapi.dev, and other supported dictionary queries to en.wiktionary.org. Bundled Chinese definitions and English IPA are preferred when the Chinese dictionary is selected; missing readings or other lookups can still require a request. Queries may start when you hover over or select text, before you click Speak.
The requested word or lookup text is included in the request URL. The destination service also receives normal connection information such as your IP address and request metadata. SpeakPeek does not attach an account identifier or send the rest of the webpage. These services operate under their own privacy and retention policies; InfEngine Labs does not control their server logs.
Turn off both Show Phonetics and Show Definition in the popup to stop these dictionary lookups. You can continue to use speech.
5. Settings and storage
Enabled state and extension preferences, including voice, language, speech rate and display options, are stored using browser extension storage. The browser may sync settings according to its own account and sync controls. Dictionary results are cached in memory. SpeakPeek does not maintain a persistent query or browsing-history database.
6. Support and website visits
If you email support@infenginelabs.com, we receive your address, message and attachments. We use them to respond, investigate issues and retain necessary support records only as long as needed for those purposes and applicable legal obligations. Do not send passwords, verification codes or private webpage contents.
Opening our product or support website makes a normal website request to our hosting provider, which receives network metadata. The extension has no advertising or analytics SDK.
7. Your controls and deletion
You can disable the extension, restrict website access, turn off dictionary displays, and remove its stored settings using browser controls or by uninstalling the extension. Browser sync copies follow the browser provider’s controls. Contact us to request access to or deletion of support correspondence, except records that applicable law requires us to retain.
8. Changes and contact
We will update this policy and its effective date when features or data practices materially change. Send privacy questions to support@infenginelabs.com.
